Making your own lime milk - CANCELLED

Come and make your own limewash at the museum with Olivier BLANCHARD, from "Badigeons et Cie"!

Limewash or limewash paints are made from a mixture of lime (air or hydraulic) and water, in proportions that vary according to the desired effect (whitewash, whitewash, patina, etching). Pigments can be added to color the paint. The primary function of whitewash is to protect the rendering by creating a thin layer of cullet (carbonated lime) on the surface. Limewash is inexpensive and requires periodic maintenance. Limewash can also be used for decorative purposes (friezes, trompe l'œil, etc.).
- Theoretical part: brief history and presentation of materials (air lime paste, powder, hydraulic lime), pigments and additives. What are the appropriate supports and their preparation (dry and wet techniques)? What are the different dosages for applying limewash (liming, whitewash, etching, patina)?
- Practical part: making a small limewash decoration.

Course fee: 60€ to be paid to the provider + reduced museum admission fee of 6€.
Capacity: 5 to 10 participants.

Information and booking on 03 81 55 20 17 or via the booking form (please specify the course title).
