From 1983 to 1997, associative management
The Folklore Comtois association mobilized public funds and brought in substantial associative funds for the creation of the Museum and to ensure its functioning. In 1997, the association handed over the museum to the public authorities, both to guarantee its future and to free itself from a management that had become too important.
Support from public authorities
A syndicat mixte was created in 1997, comprising the Conseil général du Doubs, the District du Grand Besançon and the Commune de Nancray. Today, it is made up equally of the Département du Doubs and Grand Besançon Métropole.
