Discovering the Stinging Nettle

During this workshop, you’ll discover the unexpected benefits of the stinging nettle—its many culinary, medicinal, cosmetic, and textile uses—and learn to make the most of this local, free, and abundant resource.
Through various recipes and hands-on techniques, you’ll learn how to identify, harvest, cook, preserve, and process this plant.

Each participant will have the opportunity to prepare and taste various nettle-based dishes and also learn how to make a small rope using the plant’s fibers.

Families with children ages 7 and up / Please bring gardening gloves, long pants, and closed-toe shoes for the harvesting portion of the workshop.
Group size: 5 to 8 people

Workshop fee: €30
Lunch: tasting of nettle-based recipes (gluten-free, dairy-free, and egg-free) and a potluck: everyone brings a dish to share with the group.
