TAHRIR
Paul Schirck
Louis isn’t doing well.
He’s French, in his thirties, and a musician.
Most importantly, he’s just discovered old, previously unknown letters from his ancestors, who were colonists in Algeria.
Louis needs to talk about it, to let go of this past, to exorcise it, to question it.
What to do with one’s identity, history, and heritage when they stem from terrifying moments in our shared past?
How can one break free from them? How can one transcend them? How can one deconstruct them?
For Louis, there’s no doubt that this must involve confronting the actions of his ancestors, but also—and above all—through music.
