Louis is not well.
He's French, in his thirties and a musician.
Above all, he has just found some old, unknown letters from his ancestors, settlers in Algeria.
Louis needs to talk about it, to let go of the past, to exorcise it, to question it.
What can we do with our identity, our history, our heritage, when it stems from terrifying moments in our shared past?
How can we break free? How can we surpass ourselves? How can we deconstruct ourselves?
For Louis, this means confronting the deeds of his forebears, but above all through music.
