After more than 30 years of existence, it is essential to redefine the vocation of the Maisons Comtoises open-air museum for the Grand Besançon Métropole territory. The Musée des Maisons Comtoises is a place where visitors can question their own way of life and their relationship with nature and the world.
A 6-stage program was validated by the Conseil Syndical at its January 2020 meeting. To ensure a comprehensive and coherent project, the competition procedure was chosen for the selection of the project manager. On February 7, 2020, the project was presented to the elected cultural and tourism representatives of the Region, the Département and the Metropolis, as well as to the departments of the Direction Régionale des Affaires Culturelles, the Préfecture du Doubs and the Commissariat du Massif du Jura. It has been welcomed by all the supervisory bodies and partners, who are delighted to see the emergence of a comprehensive, forward-looking project that is in tune with environmental, cultural and tourism issues.
