One spring day, a friend of Fourmi’s gave her an egg—a chicken egg, round, soft, and fragile. She explained that Fourmi should write all her dreams and wishes for the coming year on it, and that if she planted it in the ground, the egg would grow and her wishes would come true. Fourmi is a clown who believes in the magic of small things, and she plants the egg. A few weeks later, Fourmi meets a hen named Ariane, and this marks the beginning of a story of love, trust, and respect that will change their lives.
*I Planted an Egg* explores the cycles of life. Which came first, the egg or the hen? But is there even a beginning? And what would the end be? What if, in the end, there were neither a beginning nor an end, but rather a constant transformation? The fruit falls from the tree, rots in the soil, and decomposes. Seeds sprout into a new tree, which in turn will bear fruit… In this way, Fourmi weaves her philosophy from simple, everyday elements.
