Zita, Paola, Antonia
Visual artist Léa Dhordain's interpretation of Jean-François Millet's famous painting "Des glaneuses" (1857) is set on the museum's ridgeline. The artist expands on this work's initial theme of art history and rurality, by including her own family history.
Both imposing and delicate, these works illustrate a key stage in the cultivation of the land: gleaning, a collective right enabling women, children and the most destitute to recover the ears of corn left after the harvest.
In spring 2025, the work will be definitively completed with the arrival of the third and last of the Glaneuses, christened Antonia.
