Felting – CANCELED

The Musée des Maisons Comtoises is hosting Guillaume Millot, a master weaver and textile artist, for a workshop introducing participants to the art of felting.

Born in Vesoul in 1981 and now based in the Jura Mountains, Guillaume Millot has been developing a unique body of work centered on natural textile fibers for several years. Founder of the workshop Tissage de Séquanie, he explores and reinvents ancestral techniques from all five continents, blending traditional craftsmanship, innovation, and contemporary design. His work draws deep inspiration from nature, landscapes, and encounters, giving rise to unique textile pieces that blend elegance, materiality, and artistic expression.

During this workshop, you’ll learn all the steps involved in creating a two-dimensional felted wool object using the wet-felting technique—from laying out the wool to hot felting, including the cold pre-felting stage. This workshop is an opportunity to play freely with color and discover the unique texture of wool felt.

This experience is an invitation to explore a rare craft, to appreciate the richness of traditional textile techniques, and to discover a living art form that is directly connected to the material and the craftsperson’s touch.

Workshop fee: 40 €
